چکیده

Background: The objective of the present study was to assess accuracy age estimation from TCI ofmandibular molars (except wisdom teeth) both sides using CBCT images known and sex, so thatwe can apply this method estimate in living individuals skeletal material unknown age. Methods: A cross sectional retrospective conducted on a total 100 subjectswho were referred department for varied diagnostic purposes gender. All CBCTimages with fully visible pulp cavity selected. Two measurements taken at two different levels.Height crown (CH) height coronal (CPCH). Then tooth – index (TCI)for each calculated as follows: = CPCH X / CH.Results: Comparison value between male female showed no significant difference thegender. Among four mandibular (lower left right1stand 2nd molars) 46 47 correlateswell age. has prediction an R 0.426. Inter observermeasurements moderate good agreement measures. Conclusions: teeth found be reliable notgender determination. used determination forensic it is non- invasiveand also makes possible reconstruct planes showing anatomical imagedstructures planes.

Assessing the Prevalence of Pulp Stones by Cone Beam Computed Tomography in a Population in North of Iran

Background and purpose: Pulp stones are calcified masses in the pulp chamber or root canals. Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) can identify crown and root anatomy and also detect calcifications which may help to achieve a better diagnosis. The goal of this study was to determine the frequency of pulp stones in CBCT images. Materials and methods: In this cross-sectional study, 500 CBCT image...

Foreign Body in Nasal Cavity: Panoramic and Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) Findings

Introduction: Panoramic view as a routine dental radiograph has an important role in diagnosis of other facial abnormalities accompanied with dento- alveolar structures. In this case presentation, we discuss this subject and also the efficacy of cone-beam computed tomography in localization of foreign body in complex anatomy of nasal cavity.

A comparative evaluation of cone-beam computed tomography and multi-slice computed tomography in the diagnosis of sheep mandibular bone defect: an in vitro study

Introduction: Diagnosis of lesions and bone defects is very important and there is a lack of substantial studies on the most appropriate method for bone defect measurement. Hence, the aim of this study is to evaluate the accuracy of multi-slice computed tomography (MSCT) and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) in the diagnosis of mandibular bone defects present in sheep. Material & Methods: T...
